With the temperatures dipping down into the single digits and below, you begin to wonder just how you are going to get spring gardening started.
Here is one way that you can get the onions started.
Cut the roots off of the onions that are in your kitchen. Now keep those in a good location so that they won't dry out excessively. As soon as the weather permits, go plant those outside. Be sure that you mark the location, since these are two year onions.
The first year, you will want to only clip off the blades. Use these for cooking or dry them out for storing.
The second year, you will have nice onion's and blades.
